Let’s go back to our favorite
place where we first met.
Steven & Lauren
Steven told me about the first time
Lauren and him met in Brooklyn,
when the two of them came walking down the street some 30 minutes later. My first thought was his knee was gonna burn on the asphalt that was baking in the sun on a hot day. Of course my focus shifted to all the emotion that sprung out of these two has he popped the question and flashed the ring.
Steve definitely dropped down about 3 to 4 feet too early as per our plan so I caught more of the fire hydrant than I was hoping to. This was only my second proposal shoot and the knowledge I gained from the experience was to move. I realize now, so many proposals in, that she’s always enamored with him (or her) and I have the freedom to get in closer without disrupting the moment.
at a roof top spot called Berry Park. It was right across the street from McCarren Park in Williamsburg, and about 2 years prior I lived only a half mile away in Greenpoint. I knew exactly where Steve was talking about and was eager to get back to my old neighborhood.
The original plan was to try and capture this proposal on the rooftop, however in the heart of the lockdowns the business had very different rules regarding reservations so we had to switch it up. So the obvious next best option was to shoot this out in front of the building, and that’s exactly what we did.
I was set up across the street hiding behind a tree like a weirdo
