Mark & Nicole

Follow the candles, up the stairs,

to the love of your life.

Mark is a big old bear,

a teddy bear, madly in love.

A strong, certainly taller than me, man that at first sight seems like the kind of guy you want on your team. He has a soft heart and Nicole stirs it. She evoked tears from him with ease as he got down and declared his ever lasting love for her. Tender is a great way to describe his emotion for her.

Funny enough she has a much tinier frame than this big old burly man but radiated with a calm emotional fortitude. She had a nurturing passion for him that was obvious, but while moved by his expression of love she remained steady, more the rock of the two. It was two blaring ends of whatever spectrum this is, perfectly in sync, a balance of seemingly opposite forces only the universe is capable of sustaining.

I quickly became Mark’s friend when he first reached out to me. He was certainly more anxious and concerned with every last detail than most of my clients, and all of my clients certainly feel the excitement and care deeply about the details. I showed up extra early to help him set up a romantic display of candle light and rose pedals. We decorated the spiral staircase all the way up to their rooftop that overlooks the grand New York skyline from Jersey City.

He was nervous and it seemed like many lifetimes was running through his head as he waited patiently for her to ascend up this pop up temple of love. I was hiding around the corner and I was as ready as I was ever gonna be.

So was he. Off to never never land.
