Once, twice, three times a charm.

Or maybe not.

Joe & Daya

Sometimes the plan goes awry,

and as a photographer you have

got to always be prepared. That was certainly the case with this proposal. I met Joe for our on site consultation at the famous and busy Central Park in New York. It wasn’t my first time at the rodeo in this beautiful dream of a place to capture photos. This would be my fourth proposal in this park and everyone wants to get down at Bow Bridge.

Every time I have to convince them that trying to execute an intimate proposal in such tight quarters with a guaranteed large number of people all crammed in is impossible. So during our meeting at the park we spent an hour going over some of my favorite spots to shoot that will definitely be more secluded. Joe and I had three locations picked out, plans A, B and C.

Then came the date and I arrived early as I always do. It was a Saturday and I was in contact with Joe the whole day, and quickly I ran through A, B, and C with absolutely zero chance of being able to capture an intimate proposal there. The park was crowded like you couldn’t believe, even for Central Park, even for a beautiful Saturday.

So I texted Joe, and even got on the phone with him (he was pretending to talk to some friends they were “supposed” to be meeting) and went to one of my favorite sights, now known as plan D. Even there it was populated, but it was possible, so I let Joe know how to get there.

The rest is history.
