To the mountains of Carolina,

surrounding a lake to go explore.

Nick & Megan

It’s always fun shooting a

proposal with dogs.

This was also my first proposal shoot since moving to North Carolina. Nick had contacted me from Virginia where the two are from and have been together for 9 years!

Nick was a gentleman every step of the way. I didn’t get a chance to meet him until the day of the shoot. which is not the normal case for me. He was coming in for a weekend getaway with Megan and they were exploring all that Boone has to offer, high up in the Appalachian Mountains. The views driving to the site will blow your mind, but he was dead set on capturing this special occasion around Price Lake.

This incredibly beautiful lake sits at the bottom of Grandfather Mountain and it is large. To top it off it has zero cell service so the

plan I derived for this had to work in a way where he got to see me before hopping down on one knee. I sent him pictures, and told him that when he passes me on the path he will come up to the knee drop location and I’ll start shooting.

So about a mile and a half into this two and half mile trail that goes around the lake I finally met Nick and Megan at the same time with their two cute little Dachshunds. It was fun to play it off for a second I guess, but quickly we got right to action. And when I say action I mean one of the dogs immediately jumped right into the lake.

I guess the them of amazing proposal was being rambunctious and spontaneous.
